Tierkloof Mountain Cottages - Your Stay in Breede River

There is no restaurant, bar, or breakfast service. Kitchens include a stove, oven, cutlery, dishes, and cooking basics such as olive oil, tea, and coffee. Some guests have received farm-fresh eggs. Outdoor braai (barbecue) areas and a fire pit are set up for grilling. Stock up on food before arriving.

Each cottage has an outdoor pool and a wood-fired hot tub. Guest reviews rate the hot tub highly. At night, guests use the hot tub for stargazing; the Tankwa Karoo has little light pollution. Marked hiking trails start at the property, including Leopard Trail and Black Eagle Trail. Cycling is available. The Fort has a boule court and a lapa. Guests can birdwatch around the cottages.

The cottages sit on the R355 in Breede River DC, Western Cape, in the Tankwa Karoo. Inverdoorn Private Nature Reserve is about 8 km (18 minutes) by car from the property. The nearest shops and petrol stations are in Ceres, 60 km away. The access road is unpaved; a 4x4 or high-clearance vehicle is recommended, and the last 5 km can be rough. No public transport stops at the property. Cellphone reception is limited.
